Driven Wild Boar Hunting in Turkey

The field team selects each drive using recent boar movement, fresh sign, wind, access, and ground conditions. Guides place the hunters and give a safety briefing before dogs and beaters begin moving through the chosen area.

A normal day is organised around three drives: two before lunch and one after lunch. Around 15 dogs and 15 local beaters are normally involved, although the exact team and drive plan can change with the terrain and conditions.

The standard driven format requires at least 10 hunters. The maximum is 15 hunters on one driven trip. This makes it best suited to syndicates, rifle-club contacts, or a group of friends who can travel on the same dates.

Group size affects the organisation of the drives, transport, accommodation, and field team. The full group and each hunter's firearm details should therefore be confirmed early rather than added shortly before departure.

On previous three-day driven trips, the usual group average has been around 60-70 wild boar. This is a group benchmark from past hunts, not a guaranteed bag for a future trip.

No responsible outfitter can promise an exact result in natural, unfenced ground. Weather, boar movement, drive selection, safe shooting opportunities, and the ability of individual hunters all affect the final bag. One hunter may make every chance count while another may fire several shots without taking a boar, so a credible individual average cannot be promised.

The current three-day driven package is £3,000 per hunter. The four-day option is £3,500 and the five-day option is £4,000 per hunter. A £2,000 deposit per hunter is currently required, with final written terms confirmed at booking.

There is no trophy fee under the standard driven package, including when a male boar with strong tusks is taken. Tusk preparation is optional and currently listed at £50. Prices and availability should be reconfirmed before flights are purchased.

The advertised package includes full-board accommodation, hunting licence and area fees, firearm import and export assistance, Antalya Airport and local transfers, and visa invitation support when required for the traveller's nationality.

International flights, airline firearm charges, visa fees where applicable, alcohol, and personal expenses are not included. Hunters are responsible for personal travel and health insurance and for meeting UK, airline, and transit requirements.

After breakfast, the group travels from the hotel to the hunting area. The guides brief the team and place the guns before the first drive. A second drive normally follows before lunch.

Lunch is served in the mountains, often as a barbecue-style field meal. The afternoon drive follows, after which the group returns to the hotel for dinner. The order and number of drives may change if weather, safety, access, or fresh field information requires a different plan.

Driven boar presents fast, moving rifle targets. Hunters should be competent with their chosen rifle and understand the importance of identifying a safe shot, neighbouring positions, background, and the guide's instructions.

Before the trip, the organiser should collect passport and firearm details, confirm rooming and dietary requirements, agree the travel route, and make sure every hunter understands the written package and safety expectations.
